Patent application US 20110274409 filed by Sony has found its way into the news media. Sony has the gall to patent the operation of pausing play in video games in order to show advertisements. But among the mockery and outrage, where are the facts?

Intellectual Property Analysis of Fowler Woods LLC’s Streaming Data Advertising Patent Portfolio referenced in Fowler Woods LLC v. The Huffington Post, et al.

The patent lawsuit with The Huffington Post, Hollywood.com, and others, is the most recent in a line of litigation Fowler Woods LLC has filed against online radio websites and web application makers including Pandora Media, Inc. In this most recent suit, Fowler Woods claims that these companies infringe their patent on methods for displaying advertisements while audio is playing through an online application or website.
