M·CAM® AIR

Our Commitment To The Well-being Of Innovation

Innovation is fundamental to life. Whether it is adaptation of living systems to their environment, or it is the optimization of things for quality of life, life innovates. And innovation is equally possible to all people. Whether you are moved to be an artist, a farmer, a business person, or a politician, your capacity to adapt to your environment and alter your environment knows no boundary – political, economic, gender, class, religion or otherwise.

The M·CAM® AIR (Artist in Residence) is our expression through employment, of our conviction that creativity is the source of all innovation.  M·CAM® AIR is our organization's mission presented through the lens of art. It is our symbol that innovation is accessible to all people through exploration and engagement.

Patently Obvious®

Market And Public Discourse That Can Be Important In Making Decisions In The Innovation Spaces

Patently Obvious® is a weekly report focusing on select groups of patents in order to increase transparency in markets, addressing information asymmetries, and providing a more level playing field for all parties.

When most people consider the patent system, they often think of a structure in which large corporations make money selling products based on proprietary knowledge, licensing the technology to others, or suing others who infringe on the patent rights behind their most cutting-edge products. In recent years, the importance of patents and intellectual property rights as an important variable in the marketplace has come to the forefront of the public consciousness as world leaders declare their country’s lead in the innovation race. In the market, knowledge is power.

About Innovation

Innovation is fundamental to life… Putting it all together

Innovation is fundamental to life. Whether it is adaptation of living systems to their environment or it is the optimization of things for quality of life, life innovates. Animals change their colors and patterns to blend into their surroundings. Plants alter their root structure to adapt to the soil that they’re in. People choose radio waves to communicate at great distances so that they can stay in touch. And innovation is equally possible to all people. Whether you are moved to be an artist, a farmer, a business person or a politician, your capacity to adapt to your environment and alter your environment knows no boundary – political, economic, gender, class, religion or otherwise.

FOR INNOVATION TO THRIVE, WE MUST UNDERSTAND THE ECOSYSTEM IN WHICH INNOVATION LIVES AND THE LIMITS THAT HAVE BEEN PLACED UPON IT IN OUR CULTURE

For a number of reasons, innovation rights and intangible assets do not provide all people equal opportunity. Financial, legal and technical barriers hide the beneficial use of innovation far more often than the average person sees. Financial systems seek uniformity. You are either credit-worthy or not. You either create companies with equity or you must find companies with whom to partner. Established business wants to dictate consumer desires rather than transforming experiences. Governments want to promote market dominance. M·CAM® removes the barriers and allows everyone equivalent access to innovation and its true benefits.

Innovation Literacy

ENCOURAGING ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Through our stewardship of The Global Innovation Commons and The Heritable Innovation Trust M·CAM® empowers all communities and people of the world to participate in the Knowledge Economy

The Global Innovation Commons (G.I.C.) provides a world-wide repository of all innovations which, while possibly protected in one or more countries, have the ability to be used in the rest of the world due to patent expiration, abandonment, invalidity, or failure to file in-country protection.

The G.I.C. enables the immediate “open source” generic production of most technologies – even those considered most cutting edge – in markets where patent holders failed to seek or gain protection.

"Instead of dragging communities into the broken models of a restrictive past, the Heritable Innovation Trust™ invites knowledge holders and users into a cooperation that will last and grow." - Dr. David Martin
